Bravo! I am writing about these things also. Several pieces now on neoliberal governmentality and the impact of neoliberal marketization on subjects and on democratic processes (presently writing a series on neoliberalism and counter-hegemonic projects on indarktimes.com). I am curious about the juxtaposition you make between “utopia” and “TINA.” Is there a neoliberal utopia that can be articulated? Isn’t it immediately a dystopian hellscape, as you indicate? Why does neoliberalism need TINA (which you show in its great effectiveness) if there is any sort of neoliberal utopian destination? It seems like some measure of utopian projection (despite its historic risks) has something to do with a counter-movement to “There Is No Alternative” and its concomitant resignation and fatalism.
